 Chambers and Associates developed and are successfully piloting an innovative prevention/intervention HIV/AIDS program -- “The Sojourner Project” -- which targets African-American women with a culturally sensitive, intergenerational, gender-based approach. It is designed to empower and equip community members to conduct the intergenerational training in their communities within their circle of influence (family and kinship network) through a program consisting of numerous educational and skill building activities. This model addresses communication barriers and issues of trust. It is anticipated that 300 women will have participated in the training by the end of this program in November 2006. |
