TAKING RESPONSIBILITY OF OUR HEALTH - FREE HEALTH AWARENESS WORKSHOP OFFERED

Grand Chain, IL – Chambers & Associates, LLC is hosting a conferece for African American Women on August 14, 2010 from 8:00AM- 4:00PM at Shawnee Community College, 8364 Shawnee College Rd. in Ullin, IL
The goal of this fun, engaging event is to increase awareness, promote early detection and treatment of many health issues particularly found in African American women such as HIV/AIDS infection, Lupus, Breast Cancer, and Cardiovascular disease. This fun and informative gathering is designed to prepare women to focus on what may be happened to their bodies personally and encourage them to seek treatment in a timely manner; as well as educate other females, whom lives they’ve may touch in the future.

During this workshop women will be provided evidence-based information obtained by many physicians over the last couple of decades as well as self- based testimonies from women that have been diagnosed with some of the diseases themselves. The personal stories will be shared to help women understand just how, these individuals may have been attending workshops themselves in the past and listening to information provided, but could have never imagined it would actually happen to them.

We encourage women to make a strong effort to attend this workshop to assist in taking responsibility of their own health. For more information please contact 618.634.9611. This project is funded by the U.S Dept. of Health and Human Services, Office on Women’s Health.
